Ellie the Echo Elephant 🐘 | Jungle Story for Kids | English Stories
In the heart of the jungle, where trees swayed and birds sang, lived a small elephant named Ellie.
Ellie was cheerful, playful… and a little bit echo-y.
Whenever someone said something, Ellie repeated it—every single word.
“Good morning!” chirped the parrot.
Good morning!” repeated Ellie.
“Watch out for the mud!” shouted the monkey.
“Watch out for the mud!” echoed Ellie, just before slipping into the puddle!
Everyone giggled at first.
But after a while, the animals got confused.
“Ellie, do you even have your own words?” asked the wise old turtle.
Ellie blinked. “Do you even have your own words?”
The turtle sighed. “Hmm… I guess not yet.”
Later that day, Ellie saw a butterfly crying on a leaf.
“What’s wrong?” asked a kind giraffe.
“What’s wrong?” repeated Ellie.
The butterfly sniffled. “I lost my way and no one helped me.”
The giraffe gave a gentle nudge.
“It’s okay, little one. We’ll help you.”
Ellie looked at the butterfly. She wanted to say something kind—not just repeat.
So she took a deep breath…
And softly said, “Don’t worry. You’re safe now.”
The giraffe smiled.
The butterfly blinked.
“You talked… like you.”
Ellie felt a warm flutter in her heart.
“Yes,” she said proudly. “I did.”
From that day on, Ellie still echoed now and then—it was fun!
But she also spoke in her own soft, sweet voice.
Sometimes to comfort,
Sometimes to cheer,
And sometimes to say,
“I like who I am.”
